— Lovet Pet Health Care, owned by The Aspen Group, was undergoing one of the most ambitious rebrands in veterinary care -- transforming 30+ AZ Pet Vet clinics into a unified national brand. The challenge wasn't just launching something new. It was making sure existing clients felt seen, supported, and not left behind. I joined as Senior Product Designer across two phases of this partnership -- first building the website and design system, then maintaining and growing the award-winning Lovet app

A Rebrand Built Around Real People
The project required adherence to the highest standards of visual fidelity and real-time rendering capabilities to meet the production studio's technical requirements.
Before any design work began I conducted SME interviews, user research, and competitive analysis to understand both the existing AZ Pet Vet customer base and the opportunity for Lovet as a growing national brand. The biggest design challenge was ensuring current clients understood this was the same team they already loved, just under a new name and identity. Lovet went all in on this -- the rebrand wasn't just digital. They redesigned the physical clinic interiors and launched a campaign featuring real photos of the people who work there. Our job was to make the digital experience match that same warmth and authenticity.
This client was a dream to work with. They came to us prepared, collaborative, and deeply invested in both their customers and their staff. It felt less like a client engagement and more like a true partnership.
Two Phases, One Cohesive Vision
Phase one focused on the website -- wireframes, high-fidelity design, and a complete design system handed off to their dev team. Working alongside a Creative Director, I owned the UX from research through final handoff, designing a site that could serve both loyal existing clients and new pet parents discovering Lovet for the first time.
Phase two brought me back to maintain and grow the Lovet app -- the primary communication layer between pet parents and their vet teams. I designed and shipped features including appointment cancellation and rescheduling, document uploads, new pet onboarding with care and allergy info, improved lab results navigation, cancel reason requests, teletriage, and the new Lovet Essentials program. I also led research into refreshing the overall app layout to keep the experience feeling current and polished.
Process
Across two phases of work, I helped Lovet build a digital presence that matched the heart of their brand. Phase one focused on the website -- research, wireframes, high-fidelity design, and a complete design system. Phase two brought me back to maintain and grow the app as the product evolved.

Every design decision on this project came back to one question -- does this make pet parents feel supported? From the website to the app, the goal was always to make a stressful experience feel approachable, warm, and clear.
Final Design
Months of hard work and collaboration led to a groundbreaking and memorable visual experience. The designs exceeded the production team's expectations, setting a new standard for sci-fi films.
Every design decision on this project came back to one question -- does this make pet parents feel supported? From the website to the app, the goal was always to make a stressful experience (pet health) feel approachable and clear.

Lovet was one of those rare projects where everything clicked. The client came prepared, the team was collaborative, and the work genuinely mattered -- because at the end of the day we were designing for pet parents who just want the best for their animals. Being trusted to come back for phase two and help grow the app was one of the highlights of my career. When a client invites you back, that's the real measure of success.

The Lovet app won a Bronze VETTY Award in 2026, recognized as one of the best digital products in veterinary care. The website successfully launched a new national brand across 30+ clinic locations while retaining the trust of existing AZ Pet Vet customers.
Being brought back for phase two was the real win. When a client trusts you enough to keep building with you, that's the measure of a successful partnership.
